CompuNet Clinical Laboratories Named a 2012 Healthiest Employer

June 27, 2012, Dayton, OH - CompuNet Clinical Laboratories is proud to announce that the company has been named a 2012 Healthiest Employer by the Dayton Business Journal.
Healthiest Employers is an awards program that recognizes employers that proactively shape their employees’ health. Companies that are selected have made a strong commitment to impact the health of their workplace and find ways to reduce their healthcare costs.

"Workplace wellness programs have been proven to boost employee morale, improve health and reduce sick time, which ultimately pays off on the profit line," said Carol Clark, publisher of the Dayton Business Journal.

"We're pleased to be able to honor these top companies from the Dayton region that have demonstrated a commitment to their employees' health and wellness."

CompuNet’s focus on wellness has grown significantly over the past several years. What began as the addition of an on-site fitness center and annual complimentary lab screenings has expanded to include a company-wide strategy to improve health and wellness.

A volunteer-based Wellness Committee with strong leadership support has launched a variety of healthy lifestyle programs with active employee participation. Additionally, during its annual complimentary wellness lab screening period this spring, a Know Your Numbers campaign resulted in a nearly 90% employee participation rate. Lab aggregate results data has given CompuNet an understanding of its specific workforce health issues.

As a result, CompuNet is reaching out to communityhealth organizations for education and programming assistance for its employees. One initiative is CompuNet’s upcoming Diabetes Prevention Program through the local YMCA chapter, which is offered to employees enrolled in their health plan and meeting certain criteria.
