CompuNet Wins Healthiest Employer Award for 3rd Consecutive Year

For the third consecutive year, CompuNet Clinical Laboratories has earned the Healthiest Employer award, the Dayton Business Journal announced on June 3.

Healthiest Employers is an awards program that recognizes employers that proactively shape their employees’ health. Companies that are selected have made a strong commitment to positively impact the health of their workplace and find ways to reduce their healthcare costs.

“CompuNet’s focus on health and wellness has strong support from senior leadership and that is key to being a healthy employer”, says Carolyn Thaman, Vice-President of Performance Excellence. “As a healthcare provider, it’s important to keep our own employees healthy. We’re proud of our Wellness Team and the creative initiatives they’ve introduced to engage our employees!”

CompuNet employees are encouraged to participate in Wellness Team fitness projects, use the company’s onsite fitness center or exercise on their own. Employees are rewarded through the BOOST Rewards® Program for a variety of activities that contribute to good health including regular wellness screenings and physicals along with exercising at least 20 days in one month’s time.

Each spring, CompuNet provides employees with complimentary wellness lab screenings to promote awareness of their own lab numbers and potential health issues. The program is popular and the participation rate is consistently high each year. In 2012 CompuNet expanded the program to include a family member.

CompuNet will be recognized, along with 14 other businesses, at the Healthiest Employer event to be held on August 7, 2014 at Sinclair Community College.
