On Monday July 7th, Atrium Medical Center and Miami Valley Hospital laboratory went live with a new test to monitor hemostasis for ECMO and Bypass patients using Thromboelastography (TEG) technology.
The new TEG cartridge has a higher level of heparinase to neutralize the patients’ heparin and assist the provider with the true coagulopathic view of the patient. Once the heparin is neutralized the true coagulopathic picture can be observed real time via the EPIC Citrix TEG Manager.
