About Medicare and Secondary Insurance

About Medicare Claims

Medicare will only pay for tests that they consider medically necessary. These tests are referred to as Medicare limited coverage tests. When there is a chance that Medicare may not pay for a test, we ask our Medicare patients to sign an Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN). By signing the ABN, this lets Medicare know that the patient has agreed to be financially responsible for the test.

About Secondary Insurance

CompuNet will file your secondary claim to the following insurance companies:

  • Anthem
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Tricare
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • Medical Mutual
  • Cigna

If you are enrolled in the Medicare crossover plan and there is a balance left on your invoice, Medicare may forward your claim information to your secondary insurance. If you are unsure whether or not you are enrolled, please call Medicare. If your secondary insurance is not listed above, you should file your secondary insurance and do the following:

  1. Make a copy of your invoice
  2. Make a copy of your primary insurance carrier's explanation of benefits (EOB) form
  3. Mail both copies to your secondary insurance carrier
